Ara Thorose is an Armenian-American artist from Los Angeles, currently based in New York. He holds a master’s degree in 3D Design from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work is an investigation of form, with a minimal approach to material and geometry. He creates design objects that can be engaged with as furniture, sculpture or both in a personal and emotional way. Uncompromised by the practicality of function, Ara Thorose explores the poetics of form under the constraints of design. Awarded Rising Star in Design by Interior Design Magazine and ranked in Sight Unseen’s American Design Hotlist in 2021, Thorose's works, including his 7M Chair, are in prestigious collections such as Cranbrook Art Museum.
