Inspiration for Amnis arose from the flight of a bird, the dodging and springing of a fish, the meandering thoughts of ourselves, and the material itself. Stages of the course are visible by two axis of geometry, X and Y. Inner ribs (X) are a moment of journey, outer strips (Y) are of movement and speed. The path is orbital, a reflection of the traffic flow below. Hand build by Matthias at his located located in Rhode Island, each strip of White Oak is steam bent and the lumber is locally sourced.
