German-Hungarian visual artist Hanna Barczyk resides in Montreal, Canada, and combines emotion and concept to create meaningful illustrations. She believes art is a powerful way to connect with others, feel empathy, and tell stories. Her playful, bold, and minimalist style transforms complex ideas into simple creative solutions. She works on a variety of projects, including illustration, murals, advertising, apparel, paintings, and, most recently, sculpture!
She has collaborated with clients such as The MoMA, Apple, META, The New York Times, The New Yorker, TIME, United Nations, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Vogue, Penguin/RandomHouse, Pentagram, among many others.
Barczyk’s work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Communication Arts, Society of News Design, Society of Publication Designers, Creative Quarterly and 3 X 3 (Magazine of Contemporary Illustration).
She has also been the recipient of the Melville White Award and has been the subject of a feature in Communication Arts and 3x3 Magazine.
Her paintings have been exhibited in the USA, Canada and Germany.
